Breast cancer screening available at Seven Hills Plaza

SEVEN Hills shoppers will be able to undertake important health screening when Westmead Breast Cancer Institute sets up its mobile van until September 28.

Free mammograms will be available at Seven Hills Plaza where women aged between 50 and 74 are advised to have the 15-minute check.

The screening is vital to detect and treat cancer early. One in eight women in NSW will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and it is the most common cancer in Australian women, with almost 16,000 women diagnosed each year.

“Only half of all women in the target age group are being regularly screened in western Sydney,’’ she said.

“Finding breast cancer in its early stages can save lives, so we need to raise awareness about the importance of screening.”

Call BreastScreen on 13 20 50 for appointments.
