A/Prof French is the head of Breast surgery at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI). He is a clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney. He has interest and skills in all aspects of breast surgery but has a particular focus on trying to obtain not only good cancer outcomes for all patients but also pleasing aesthetic results. Doctor French has a particular emphasis on nipple sparing mastectomy combined with single stage gel implant reconstructions.

For patients undergoing breast conserving surgery A/Prof French offers resections via a variety of mammoplasty techniques, ensuring that the best possible aesthetic results are obtained.

A/Prof French contributes to, and is involved in, multiple clinical research projects at the Westmead BCI and is an author in 24 peer reviewed articles. He is frequently invited to speak at national meetings and is involved in the teaching of medical students, registrars and post graduate fellows.
