The 2011 Pink Ribbon Ride is on Sunday 23rd October and departs from The Mean Fiddler, Rouse Hill. The Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride is a sponsored charity ride designed to enable the motorcycling community of NSW to join together, enjoy a fantastic ride and raise money to help Westmead Breast Cancer Institute in the fight against Breast Cancer.
The ride raises money for charity in a few different ways. Riders and Pillions are charged a small entry fee for participating in the ride.Riders and Pillions are also encoraged to get family and friends to sponsor their participation in the ride. This year sponsorship for a rider can be made using the online donation facility at www.givenow.com.au/pinkribbonride
The event is a great day out for spectators as well as riders. Spectators always line the route and are treated to a unique spectacle of decorated bikes and riders donning pink for the cause.
Breast cancer affects more than 13,000 women in Australia every year. The Westmead Breast Cancer Institute is a leader in the provision of breast cancer care and is the only centre providing multidisciplinary research, education, clinical care, breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow up.
How will the funds be used?Funds raised will assist Westmead Breast Cancer Institute to provide:
