OUR RECOMMENDATION:

Left total mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. No axillary dissection.

HISTOPATHOLOGY:

  • Macroscopic:

Left breast specimen including nipple measures 145x53mm. Small amount (40mm) of axillary contents included.
Deep to the scar are 5-6 nodules measuring 3 to 8mm in diameter, extending close to deep resection margins. The nodules cover an area 25x20x20mm.

  • Microscopic:

The abnormal area is comprised of solid intraduct papillary carcinoma which is concentrated in the area surrounding previous excision. One focus is seen at some distance from the previous excision. Margins of excision are clear. No invasive carcinoma is seen. 0/4 lymph nodes involved.

RECOMMENDATION:

Pathology review confirmed solid intraduct papillary carcinoma only. No invasive component.

No further therapy required.
