Patient felt a sharp pain in the outer aspect of the right breast and on palpation discovered a lump.
Saw her local doctor who organised a diagnostic mammogram which was positive. Referred to Department of Radiation Oncology.
Menarche - 13 years old
Family history - Maternal grandmother died of breast cancer, sister with breast cancer aged 37, brother died of bowel cancer aged 51, sister with pancreas cancer died aged 51.
Non-drinker, 30-40 cigarettes/day for the past 30 years.

Aged 18 at first pregnancy
Previous exposure to hormone replacement therapy (duration not known)
Natural menopause at age 40 years.
Previous benign breast biopsy.
No regular medications.

Mammographic appearance of a spiculated lesion in the upper outer quadrant of the right breast typical of carcinoma. Also benign nodules seen in both breasts. The mass in the right breast measures 3cm.
