Clinical Psychologist at Westmead BCI, Dr Jemma Gilchrist has recently had a book published entitled: "Psychosocial Care of Cancer Patients. A Health Professionals Guide to What to Say and Do”.
Jemma wrote chapters in the book as well as being an editor with co-author Dr Katherine Hodgkinson.
It is an excellent resource and I would like to congratulate Jemma on its publication. Kim Hobbs (social worker) and Tish Lancaster (CNC) both from Westmead also contributed chapters to the book. It is full of practical tips and strategies to address those challenging situations that we come across regularly in our clinical practice, plus how to ensure that we look after ourselves at the same time.
Psychosocial Care of Cancer Patients: A Health Professional’s Guide for What to Say and Do was developed out of a desire to support and guide health professionals to provide compassionate, high-level psychosocial care to all those affected by cancer.
