Breast cancer affects about 1 in 10 women. Every day in Australia, over 30 women discover they have breast cancer. Currently in Australia, 100000 women, their families and friends have had to cope or are still coping with a diagnosis of breast cancer and its consequences. The NSW Breast Cancer Institute is here to ensure that women who are at risk or have a diagnosis of breast cancer receive the best advice, information and treatment, and that the doctors, scientists, counsellors and other health care professionals who provide this care have access to the latest research findings and training.
