Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride 2010

Dedicated Sydney Motorcyclists Colour Club Marconi Pink for the 10th Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride!

On Sunday the 24th October 2010, despite grey skies and persistent rain, Club Marconi in Bossley Park came alive to the roar of approximately 400 dedicated motorcycles! In excess of $40,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute in donations.

In conjunction with Club Marconi, The Girls Ride Out Pink Ribbon Ride Organising committee again coordinated a very special day for both motorcyclists and the local community coming together to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the event. With major sponsors Harley Davidson Australia participating in the day and celebrity attendance by Salvatore Coco, John Clinton and Warwick Noland the event continued to raise valuable funds as well as the wider community’s awareness to the need for Breast Cancer Research.

Adorned with pink paraphernalia including feathers, scarves, furry hats and some eye-popping costumes dedicated motorcyclists & their rides left the Club and headed out for a very wet ride via Warragamba & Picton. Returning to Club Marconi to again entertain the locals, it was a great day for everyone, with thousands of dollars worth of Motorcycling products given away for categories including Best Dressed Motorbike and Scooter, Best Dressed Man and Woman, Lucky Number Plate Draws, & Highest Sponsored rider; who this year raised over $13,000!! Three silent auctions were held and the Major Prize draw for the Sachs Scooter raffle was drawn.

Despite the weather nothing but positive reports were received about the ride and the great efforts of the committee. Funds raised at this event will aid in valuable breast cancer research.
