HISTORY:

January 1998

Routine clinical breast examination by patient’s gynaecologist - a smooth non-tender lump was palpated at the 10 o’clock position of the right breast.

Clinically this was felt to be benign.

Previous Breast History

  • Always had lumpy breasts
  • Multiple cyst aspirations in the past from both breasts.
  • Last mammography, 1996

Gynae History

  • Menarche 14
  • G3 P3, aged 21 at first delivery,
  • Breast-fed one child for more than 3 months,
  • Menopause age 55, on HRT for 10 years

Previous Medical / Surgical History

Hypertension, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, transient ischaemic attacks.

Medications

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) - Ogen, Primolut N, for past 10 years
  • Oroxine

Family History of Cancer

  • Sister, diagnosed with breast cancer aged 58
  • Mother, stomach cancer
  • Son, melanoma
