Research shows that consuming two alcoholic drinks a day increases a woman’s risk of breast cancer by 22 per cent, and for each additional alcoholic drink, the excess risk of breast cancer increases a further 10-12%. So the advice is, drink sensibly if you do in fact choose to drink and try to have several alcohol-free days each week. In fact, the cancer council recommend limiting alcohol.
