BCI Sunflower Clinic BreastScreen Van moves to Rouse Hill

The mobile BreastScreen Sunflower Clinic is moving to Rouse Hill Town Centre near Market Square where the farmers' market is held. Breast screening will commence at Rouse Hill on Saturday 2nd February and continue until Tuesday 26th February.

Vitamin D Latitude Study in the Press

One of the big news stories for the 2012 Sydney International Breast Cancer Congress held at Darling Harbour in October was the Vitamin D Latitude Study. 

Women who live south of Coffs Harbour or below 30 degrees latitude in Australia have almost double the risk of breast cancer than those in the north, the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute study shows. The lead investigator of the study, clinical dietician Kellie Bilinski, said researchers believed the link between latitude and breast cancer might be down to the reduced potential to synthesise vitamin D from sunlight at lower latitudes.

Sydney Congress a Great Success!

Over 900 delegates attended the 2012 Sydney International Breast Cancer Congress at Darling Harbour from 23-26 October. They were joined on Thursday and Friday by over 600 consumers for Breast Cancer Network Australia's conference "Strength to Strength".

Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride 2012 a great success!

Over 1000 bikes decorated in every shade of pink took part in the 2012 Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride on Sunday. The ride left from the Mean Fiddler and travelled via the Sackville ferry to the Putty Rd and on to the Colo River, before returning to Rouse Hill. The weather was kind, the music fantastic and there were smiles all round as riders and pillions gathered for the ride.
