Art of Hope 2010

Welcome to the Art of Hope 2010

We are very pleased to give a preview of the artworks and prizes that were offered to guests at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute’s Ray of Hope Fundraising Dinner on Thursday 19th of August, 2010, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.

At this year’s dinner there were two fundraising opportunities which guests enjoyed:

1 The Art of Hope Live Auction

The first Art of Hope Live Auction was held to sell three magnificent original paintings which have been painted especially for the Ray of Hope Dinner. These wonderful paintings have been generously donated by the highly regarded and much awarded women artists Laura Matthews, Suey McEnnally and Sophie Gralton. Last year, these same artists donated beautiful artworks for our extremely popular raffle, and at the suggestion of guests at our event last year, we offered a selection of their artworks for live auction. We are proud that well known Auctioneer Martin Farrah, Managing Director of Lawson Menzies Auctioneers was involved in this very special part of the evening, from which all proceeds will be donated to the Ray of Hope campaign.

2 The Art of Hope Raffle

Raffle tickets in the art themed Art of Hope Raffle were sold at the Dinner for $50 each. Ticket buyers had the chance to win some wonderful prizes, including two beautiful paintings by renowned contemporary artist Peter Francis Lawrence, as well as a "one off" specially designed and painted surfboard by Mambo artist Kelly Smith.

Every item featured on this webpage has been generously donated in support of the Ray of Hope campaign to raise much needed funds to build and maintain the new digital mobile BreastScreen van for the women of Western Sydney.
