How do I know what information to trust on the web? |
|
There are numerous websites with nutrition information, however it’s often difficult to tell whether the information is credible or not. Following are some websites that contain factual information in regard to healthy eating or diet and cancer:
Dietitians Association of Australia
NSW Cancer Council
American Institute of Cancer Research

Is it okay to drink alcohol? |
|
There is convincing evidence that drinking alcohol increases the risk of breast cancer. Research shows that consuming two alcoholic drinks a day increases a woman’s risk of breast cancer by 22 per cent, and for each additional alcoholic drink, the excess risk of breast cancer increases a further 10-12%. So the advice is, drink sensibly if you do in fact choose to drink and try to have several alcohol-free days each week. In fact, the cancer council recommend limiting alcohol. |
